Our Church At WorkWe are always looking for new members. There's something for everyone.
The Worship Committee of Session is actively involved in the worship on Sunday mourning and for other worship services during the year. The Committee secures worship assistants/liturgists for Sunday mourning worship; fellowship hosts for after worship, ushers and greeters for worship, and encourages members to lead services to our youth on Sunday mornings. The Committee secures substitute organists or pianists when the organist is away, and may secure worship leaders if required. The Committee is involved in the planning for services during the Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Holy Week, Easter, and Pentecost seasons, as well as special services such as Easter Sunrise Service, Volunteer Recognition Sunday, and Blue Christmas in December. The worship in our church is enhanced by the lovingly prepared and informative bulletins created by Evol Sealy. We welcome Sabrina Schumm as a new committee member.
The Nominating Committee is responsible to secure members of our church family to be placed in nomination for the important ordained positions (Ruling Elder and Deacon), as well for the other essential and important positions in our Church (Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, and Recording Secretary). For those on Session and Deacons who are eligible to be re-elected for a second term, the Committee needs to be supportive and encouraging for them to0 be willing to serve another term. The Committee members are responsible to explain to potential new nominees the duties of the Session and Deacons.
