From Our Pastor, The Rev. Dean Overholster
Welcome to the First Presbyterian Church of Englishtown.
We welcome you to come and worship with us every Sunday at 11:00
a.m. Although our congregation is small in number, we are great in
spirit. We have a solid educational programs in place e.g. Sunday
school for all ages including an adult class. These programs begin
at 9:30 a.m. and continue for one hour. A nursery for infants is
provided for both Sunday school and worship. A coffee hour follows
worship every Sunday. A Bible class meets on Wednesdays at 7:30 in
fellowship hall. We are presently studying Paul's letter to the
Romans. Coffee and good discussion provided. On Thursdays there is
a Bible class at the home of one of our church members at 7:30. A
movie night will provide thoughtfully selected movies followed by
discussion, house groups of 6 to 7 people will study contemporary
issues. The places of meeting will be selected. We are also planning
to have once a month pot-luck luncheons. There is plenty of work to
be done and we accomplish much of this through our committees e.g.
Missions, Building and Grounds, Social Events, Stewardship planning,
Evangelism and Church growth, Worship, Christian education. Along
with all of this there is much more which take place during the
year. We would love to have you, your family and friends, join us.
We are an open church and welcome everyone to worship with us and be
a vital part of our growing church. The pastor is available for
marriage and personal counseling or to just sit and chat over a cup
of coffee.
